Positive: Breakfast was not part of the deal, but was invited to either a lunch or dinner three (!) times. Congenial conversation, great atmosphere. Alain gave me a guided tour of the city, again something that is not a standard part of a BnB deal.
Negative: Nil.
Summary: Excellent host. Welcoming, but in no way intrusive.

Positive: Alain was a superb host. He made us feel instantly welcome. He took us to the market on Saturday and drove us to the lookout point. He was full of exciting facts about Noumea and its surrounding little islands. We had the loveliest dinner with him and will definitely revisit him in the future. The house was close to a market and within walking distance of the bus stop. We had lovely walks around the neighborhood.
Negative: I missed my cushions from home :), but all in all we had everything we needed for our 4 day visit. We had a microwave, kettle and fridge in the room which was sufficient for our stay.
Summary: We were pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness and friendliness of everyone on the island.
